Proton Proximity Printing

Moore's law is the observation that the number of transistors on a microprocessor double every two years.Moore's second law is the observation that the capital cost of a semiconductor fab increases expontially over time. The fastest growing expense is photolithography, which now accounts for 50% of the foundry chip cost. Steppers will soon account for half of the cost of a new fab.  Mask costs are exploding and this will dampen innovation as only the largest companies can afford to design chips for the 20nm node and below. Going maskless with Direct Write On Wafer technology can solve this growing problem.
